What you find there is the authenticity and the sweetness of life of Portugal.

Grândola, there is only 15 minutes of road left to reach Comporta and its huge beach of more than 10
kilometers, lined with dunes.

the largest rice fields in Portugal. They extend to the dunes bordering the long beaches of the coast.

One cannot stay in this region without going through the Rice Museum. Located at the entrance to the
village of Comporta, this cultural space is dedicated to local rice growing and, more broadly, to the
traditions associated with it.
Today, rice fields are protected, as are the flora and fauna they support. Walking in the middle of
these unusual fields is one of the many pleasures of this destination. On foot, on horseback, by bike or
even by paddle, you have to get lost in the middle of the rice shoots to discover the many birds that
hide there and that you don't find anywhere else.
Indeed, bird watching is a real hobby in Comporta. These lands are part of the Sado Estuary Nature
Reserve and are home to over 200 different bird species, which is unique in Portugal.
